My Rose Colored Glasses
Future Release!
The Story
What if you could see the world in a whole new way?
Bailey and her favorite stuffie, Buttons, are about to discover something amazing. When Bailey finds a special pair of rose-colored glasses, everything around her looks different—brighter, clearer, and full of possibilities. But the biggest change isn’t what she sees—it’s how she understands the world.
Why does Oliver love bugs when Bailey finds them creepy? Why does one friend love the slide while Bailey prefers the swings? Why do some kids love cake while others choose ice cream? With each new situation, Bailey begins to wonder—what if seeing things differently isn’t wrong, but wonderful?
Through playful storytelling and a heartwarming lesson, My Rainbow-Rimmed, Heart-Shaped, Rose-Colored Glasses encourages children and adults alike to explore the power of perspective, empathy, and celebrating what makes us unique. But will Bailey still see things this way when she takes the glasses off?

About Julie’s Inspiration
Dr. Julie McDonnell, EdD, has always believed in the power of picture books to spark imagination and inspire learning. As a former elementary teacher with 30 years in education, she cherished using stories to engage her students. Now, as a devoted grandmother to Nadia and Callan, she finds endless inspiration in their curiosity and joy, reminding her of the timeless lessons of childhood.
This passion blossomed into Bailey and Buttons, a heartwarming series created to empower, inspire, and uplift children (and adults) while fostering meaningful connections through shared reading experiences. These stories focus on self-worth, self-acceptance, and emotional resilience.
Julie lives in St. Louis, Missouri, with her husband and family. A certified life coach, she loves being a Mimi and can often be found swinging on playground swings, embracing the simple joys of life.
